GMO AdNetworks Introduces Four New Free FeedBurner Services
Tokyo – July 30, 2007 – FeedBurner, the RSS feed management service operated in Japan by GMO Internet Group company GMO AdNetworks, introduced four new free services on July 20 aimed at improving functionality and usability. The new services are FeedBurner Stats PRO, the advanced feed analytics tool, MyBrand, a service that allows users to distribute feeds using their own domain name, Click Through Stats and Search Engine Priority Setting for counting the number of clicks on individual content items in an RSS feed, and our original API development tool.
More about the New Services
Now you can get more details than ever on your RSS subscribers, find out which content and what topics are popular and use our API to develop your own tools. Our new services allow publishers to find out what readers have shown an interest in and gain an understanding of what appeals to their subscribers. This information can be a valuable guide to publishers when placing advertisements.
1.FeedBurner Stats PRO – High level feed analytics
FeedBurner Stats PRO is a feature-packed version of the existing FeedBurner feed analytics tool for tallying subscriber numbers. The new tool allows the feed distributor to get more information on their feed including number of views and number of users that have accessed individual content items. Activating FeedBurner Stats PRO gives users access to the following functions.
a) Reach – Tells you how many RSS subscribers accessed your content
This function calculates and displays the total number of unique users among registered RSS subscribers that have viewed or clicked on your content. It can also tell you whether a subscriber (registered through an RSS reader) has just subscribed or is actually reading your content. Check daily reach or average reach over a period of time.
b) Item Views – Tells you how many times an individual content item has been viewed
Now you can find out how many times each content item in your feed has been viewed. The Item Views indicator measures the popularity of individual content items.
2. MyBrand - Distribute RSS Feeds from your own domain
Activating MyBrand allows the publisher to apply FeedBurner analytics to feeds run through their own domain. Use this tool for consistent branding on the web and to leave a stronger impression on your RSS feed subscribers.
Now instead of using http://feeds.feedburner.jp/myfeedname you can run feeds from http://feeds.mydomain.com/myfeedname.
3. Click Through Stats and Search Engine Optimization
This tool adds search engine optimization settings to feed analytics and gives you daily breakdowns of the aggregate number of users that have clicked through to your blog or web site. Gauge the level of interest among your RSS subscribers in a particular in a content item.
Improvements have been made to search engine indexing in the existing Item Click Through Stats and the search engine optimization setting makes it easy to set the HTTP Status Code: 301 Moved Permanently redirect setting. This makes it possible to tally RSS feed clicks without harming the image of the website.
4. New API Made Public
We have made the following two APIs public. This means that you can now get Reach and Views information through an API. Creating a program using one of our APIs lets users take advantage of our functions even when they can't access the FeedBurner administration screen.
a) Content Item Information
This function makes it possible to acquire information on individual RSS Feed content.Get data covering the last 24 hours on number of subscribers, number of hits, number of times displayed in a browser / RSS reader, number of clicks on a content item in a browser/ RSS Reader/ bot and more. It is also possible to specify a particular article or date for analysis.
b) Redistribution Information
Get data on all content in an RSS feed, number of subscribers in the last 24 hours, number of hits in the last 24 hours, number of times displayed in a browser / RSS reader, number of clicks on a content item in a browser/ RSS Reader/ bot, number of times displayed in a browser / RSS reader via a referrer and more. It is also possible to specify a particular article or date for analysis.
