Tokai Tokyo Securities Chooses GlobalSign EV SSL

Tokyo – November 1, 2007 – GMO Hosting & Security digital certificate services consolidated subsidiary, GlobalSign, yesterday issued EV SSL (Extended Validation SSL) server certificates for the Tokai Tokyo Securities Co. Ltd official portal site. GMO Hosting & Security is a GMO Internet Group Company.

Banks, securities companies and other financial institutions have in recent years have increasingly become targets of relentless phishing attacks, and financial agencies are being forced to take stronger prevention measures against cyber crime.
As part of their efforts to improve security Tokai Tokyo Securities decided to upgrade SSL on their official portal site to the high security, trustworthy EV SSL. Tokai Tokyo Securities selected GlobalSign because of the certificate authority’s global experience and reliability and because they were able to switch over to EV SSL without waiting for their existing SSL certificate to expire.

EV SSL (Extended Validation SSL)
As well as offering rigid verification, the EV SSL server certificate turns the address bar green once a site has been verified in Internet Explorer 7. The access user can see at a glance that a web site is trustworthy without having to open any certificates to check the certification level. In addition the organization that operates the site and the certificate authority are clearly displayed in the address bar making it easy to discern the reliability of a certificate. GlobalSign launched the EV SSL server certificate for better protection against cyber crime on October 1 this year.

Global Sign EV SSL (Extended Validation SSL) Features
The GlobalSign EV SSL offers customization options, free SGC compatibility, free reissues*1 and central management of multiple certificates with the GS Panel, in addition to meeting certificate standards. The GlobalSign EV SSL server certificate sets it apart from other Certificate Authorities. We also offer customers switching from other SSL server certificates (not limited to EV SSL), their existing contract + a one month extension bonus 2*. (Please refer to our web site for details regarding this offer)
*1.Up to one year per issue             *2.Maximum of two years and three months
