Magclick Enters Mobile Media Industry
- MagClick
Tokyo – February 20, 2007 -- GMO Internet Group company, Magclick will acquire the Sharp mobile mail magazine distribution service, Merumo and enter the mobile media business on June 1 this year.
About the Transfer of the Merumo Business
Under the GMO Internet Group philosophy, “Internet for Everyone” Magclick is working to strengthen sales and product development and establish a firm position in the Internet related advertising field.
In the fast expanding Internet advertising market one area that is expected to experience particularly high growth is the mobile advertising business. This market is estimated to grow to more than double its size in 2005 by 2009. Magclick recognizes the growth potential of mobile advertising and has resolved to take over management of the Merumo business as the first stage of its entry into the market.
Magclick aims to continue strengthening and expanding its mobile advertising business by using its media development and cultivation knowledge to create new mobile advertising products with improved media value.
