GlobalSign First to Offer Multi Year Code Signing Certificates to Japan
- GlobalSign K.K.
Tokyo – February 15, 2008 – GMO Hosting & Security consolidated subsidiary and digital authentication service provider, GlobalSign announces the launch next Monday (February 18) of the first multi-year code signing certificates to be made available in Japan. GMO Hosting & Security is a GMO Internet Group company.
Code signing certificates are digital certificates used to digitally sign software. Even after distribution, these certificates verify that an application is an official release and that it has not been tampered with in transition. Demand for code signing has significantly increased with the spread of Windows Vista and the Java platform. GlobalSign offers the following extensive code signing line up designed to meet this demand. i) MS Authenticode (MS compatible), ii) ObjectSigning (Java compatible), iii) MS Office VBA (MS Office Macro compatible).
About Multi Year Code Signing Certificates
Until now, despite demand, multi-year code signing certificates have not been available from certificate authorities in Japan. GlobalSign strives to respond to the needs of customers. On Monday, the company will become the first certificate authority in Japan to offer two and three year validity on its entire code signing certificate line up.
In conjunction with the sales launch of multi-year code signing certificates, we are launching a campaign to encourage users of other company’s code signing certificates to transfer to GlobalSign.
Transfer Campaign
We are offering the following discounts to customers that hold valid certificates from other companies at the time of application (offer available until May 31, 2008).
