GMO Payment Gateway Launches Remote Credit Card Payment Processing ASP Service
Tokyo – February 14, 2008 - - GMO Internet Group remote credit card payment processing company, GMO Payment Gateway announces the launch today of ASP credit card payment processing service, PG Card Payment Processing Service. PG Card aims to provide business with a stable, easy-to-implement, highly sophisticated service.
Outline
The GMO Payment Gateway credit card payment processing service has been operating for over ten years, we provide services primarily to major mail order companies, but also to e-commerce businesses, NHK, and Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Waterworks. There are now approximately 16,000 merchants using the service. The company has applied its expertise in payment processing to develop a reliable and highly functional service. PG Card is a new and easy-to-implement credit card payment processing ASP service.
The PG Card Payment Processing Service offers three service grades; Entry, Standard, and Advanced (please refer to the attached references for details of each service). The ASP service for card not present businesses allows companies to select the service that matches their needs. All service levels feature strong security, stability, and next generation system flexibility and features. We have also made implementation and upgrades easy for the client.
Already, 62 businesses from major mail order companies to high-profile e-commerce businesses have trialed the service.
Features
1. Three ways to connect
We offer three types of connection interface enabling our customers to select the method that matches their system policy and implementation schedule; from an interface that can be introduced fast, to one that allows flexible program development.
i) Link Connection
The user simply sets the payment processing parameters and links to the GMO-PG new customizable payment processing screen template. This service offers minimal development time and easy implementation.
ii) Module Type
GMO-PG payment processing applications (*Java/PHP) are installed onto the customer’s server, reducing the need for communications development.
iii) Protocol Type
Allows the user to develop their own payment processing program by providing connection specifications (API) for the GMO-PG server.
2. Four Standard Security Functions
All our credit card payment processing systems offer security features for safe transactions between business and consumer and dramatically reduced risk of information leakage.
i) User does not hold customer credit card details
This service does not require businesses to store customers' credit card details on their own system. The risk of information leakage is dramatically reduced. Even if the user suffers system damage, no customer credit card details are affected.
ii) 3-D Secure Compatibility
This function, endorsed by Visa International, MasterCard International, and JCB, authenticates cardholders at the time of transaction to prevent fraudulent credit card usage. This feature improves consumer trust, protects online transactions, and is effective in reducing costs.
iii) Security Code Compatibility
A security code is the last three or four digits printed on the back of a credit card. It is not stored in the cards magnetic strip. This information is only known by the holder of the card and its use is recommended for protection against counterfeit as well as a means of verifying the user.
iv) Standard Feature Administrator Restriction Function
For better information security, the administrator screen can only be accessed from a dedicated administration PC on which a client certificate has been installed. Three levels of administration screen access settings are available to help protect against internal information leakage.
3. Registration of Credit Card Details (*Standard feature of Standard/Advanced Services)
This feature applies credit card payment processing to marketing and is set to become an essential e-commerce tool. By capturing a regular clientele, businesses can boost card not present sales.
When a customer is first registered a customer ID issued by the business is stored on a GMO-PG server along with the customer’s credit card details. The next time the customer returns there is no need for them to provide card details. Only the customers log-in details are required to process a payment. This function is ideal for capturing a regular clientele and sets a business apart from its competitors.
* Up to five cards can be registered per user.
4. Reliable Recurring Payment Functions (*Standard feature of Advanced service)
The recurring payment functions boost business efficiency and prevent the loss of sales opportunities.
Outlook
Private final consumption spending in Japan is currently at around 291 trillion yen a year*1. Of that figure, the amount accounted for by credit card payments is no more than 32 trillion yen*2. However we expect the credit card payment processing market to expand making shopping more convenient for the user.
GMO Payment Gateway strives to continually grow the credit card payment processing sector.
