GMO Marketing Launches 12th Search Site – Anata no Machi no Nail Salon
Tokyo – February 27, 2008 -- GMO Internet Group company, GMO Marketing today launches the latest in a series of SEO*1 and LPO*2 optimized “long tail media”*3 sites. The new Anata no Machi no Nail Salon introduces visitors to nail salons throughout Japan. PC and mobile sites are both being launched today with a range of new advertising options available to advertisers.
Anata no Machi no Nail Salon
This site allows visitors to search for nail salons throughout Japan. Not only is it possible to search easily through lists of salons by location, users can also specify conditions such as “private room available” or “services for men”. Users can also search for specific services including nail sculpturing, nail gel, and hand care. In addition, nail salons have been categorized by facilities attached to the salon including hair salons, esthetic salons, and schools. This makes it possible for the user to find a salon that truly meets their needs.
Advertisers can display up to four photos on the Anata no Machi no Nail Salon introduction page in addition to basic details (address, URL, telephone number etc.). Internal site search categories including ”open after 8pm”, “fast service”, and “bridal nails” make it possible to effectively appeal to a target group of users.
Anata no Machi no Nail Salon Mobile Site
We are launching the mobile version of the site in conjunction with the PC version launch. The mobile site contains the same information as the PC site making it possible to search for a nail salon from anywhere. Advertisers can take advantage of the mobile site to reach more users.

*1 SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
SEO is a method of improving and optimizing the content of a website with the objective of achieving a prominent position in the search results display on major portal site search engines. Identifying keywords and phrases related to a site that will push it up the search results listing has become an integral part of operating a web site.
*2 LPO (Landing Page Optimization)
LPO is a method of reducing the landing page bounce rate, increasing the number of users who continue on deeper into the site and improving sales and registrations. This is achieved by automatically displaying information optimized for certain visitor parameters including search term, IP address and time. Over the past few years LPO has come to be considered as a cost effective advertising promotion technique and method of increasing the advertising value of web media.
*3. Long Tail Media
The sum total hits received by all Internet pages with a low frequency of hits is greater than sum total hits received by all pages with a high frequency of hits. This phenomenon is the Internet’s long tail. It is common for example on Internet mail order sites, unlike in regular stores, for sales of the top 20% of products to be less than sales of the remaining 80% of products. The same phenomenon is believed to apply to search engines where search terms that occur at a low frequency account for a higher proportion of searches than search terms that occur at a high frequency.
