Ace Securities Chooses GlobalSign EV SSL Server Certificates
Tokyo – March 4, 2008 – GMO Hosting & Security consolidated subsidiary and digital certificate service provider, GlobalSign K.K. announces that online trading company Ace Securities Co. Ltd. has adopted the GlobalSign EV SSL server certificate.
Banks, securities companies and other financial institutions are increasingly being targeted by phishing attacks. Financial institutions have incurred real damage and as a result they are toughening cyber crime prevention.
As part of its effort to strengthen security, Ace Securities resolved to employ EV SSL for thorough authentication, high trust and prevention against phishing attacks on online transactions. Ace Securities opted for the GlobalSign EV SSL server certificate not only because of the certificate authority’s experience and reliability but also because the company’s certificate issues are growing fast and because the service has an excellent reputation for being easy to implement and reasonably priced.
GlobalSign strives to expand services that meet the needs of securities companies and other organizations that require strict authentication to ensure strong trust in their web sites.

EV SSL (Extended Validation SSL)
As well as offering rigid verification, the EV SSL server certificate turns the address bar green once a site has been verified in Internet Explorer 7. The access user can see at a glance that a web site is trustworthy without having to open any certificates to check the certification level. In addition the organization that operates the site and the certificate authority are clearly displayed in the address bar making it easy to discern the reliability of a certificate. GlobalSign launched the EV SSL server certificate for better protection against cyber crime on October 1, 2007.
