iSLE to Offer IBM System iHosting Service in Partnership between GMO Hosting & Security and BELL DATA
Tokyo – April 1, 2008 – GMO Internet Group company, GMO Hosting & Security, in partnership with system operation and outsourcing services company BELL DATA, Inc. today begins offering IBM System i(Mid-range Server) Hosting Service on iSLE managed hosting services.
*1: Managed hosting: iSLE dedicated server with dedicated engineer for hardware configuration and maintenance.
Partnership with BELL DATA
GMO-HS is predominantly a provider of Windows and Linux open server (2*) hosting services. However there are many users of the mid-range server (*3) IBM Power System among our base of over 600,000 business customers and responding to the specific needs of these users has become a challenge for the company.
BELL DATA is an IBM sales partner and provides system operation and outsourcing services to over 1,000 customers using IBM Power System.
Integrating existing GMO-HS open server hosting services with BELL DATA IBM Power System operational support services allows us to offer customers a comprehensive line up of hosting services from small-mid size to large scale mission-critical systems.
As well as satisfying a range of system requirements, with GMO-HS hosting services customers can select from a greater range of operational support services, according to the scale of their system.
*2: Open server: A smaller-scale server than a mainframe or mid-range computer.
*3: Mid-range server: A medium-scale computer generally used to host a company’s mission-critical applications.
IBM System iHosting Service
Two IBM System iHosting Service plans are available. Rental Service with a flexible term of usage contract and Outsourcing Service including system administration services.
