GMO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION Launches DigiCon Cart ASP Service for Non-DRM Content Sales
Tokyo – August 17, 2009 – GMO System Consulting subsidiary, GMO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION, today launches DigiCon Cart, an ASP service for the online sale of non-DRM digital content. Leveraging the technology and experience of operating Digital Content O, we offer content sellers an easy-to-use solution with no set-up or fixed monthly fees.
The service will first be made available through the GMO Internet web infrastructure service provider Onaname.com and be expanded to other channels going forward.
DigiCon Cart
DigiCon Cart is an ASP service that enables the sale of digital content including image, audio, video (including Flash) and document files from a web site or blog. A blogger could for example sell a video, song, or short novel they had created themselves directly from their own blog. No set-up fees or fixed monthly charges apply making it an easy solution for individuals with their own web sites as well as for commercial use. No application process necessary for existing members of OnamaeID.
*OnamaeID is a common ID service for GMO Internet web infrastructure services Onamae.com, ZERO, and GMO TokuToku BB.
(1) Easy Implementation for Existing Website and Blogs
The user uploads and registers products from the DigiCon Cart administration screen to automatically create a product page URL or HTML tags for blog widgets (blog parts) displaying product information. Begin selling content downloads simply by copying and pasting the URL or HTML source into an existing blog or web site.
(2) 24 Compatible File Types, 1GB Service
Compatible with 24 file formats the service enables the sale of image, audio, video (including Flash) and document files. Total file upload capacity is 1GB.

(3) Broad Application
DigiCon Cart enables the sale of non-DRM downloads. DRM (digital rights management) technology prevents copies being made of downloaded files and makes it possible to restrict the number of times a file can be viewed or a period of validity. Using DRM drives costs up and does not allow the sale of stock video, music and images for secondary use. The DigiCon Cart service offers content sellers a method of selling files they aren’t able to sell with DRM making it ideal for a broad range of applications and objectives and for reducing costs. In addition, because an environment compatible with DRM files is not required, users can sell a wide range of digital content by selecting operating-system independent file formats.
(4) No Set-up Fees, No Fixed Monthly Fees, Pay-as-You-Go ASP Service
Users pay a percentage of content sales each month, no set-up fees or fixed monthly fees apply. GMO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION subtracts this amount when it transfers credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, JCB) from purchasers of digital content.
