GlobalSign to Enter Capital Partnership with Vietnam’s only Public Certificate Authority for Government, V-SIGN
Tokyo – September 15, 2009 – GMO Hosting & Security subsidiary and digital certification services provider, GlobalSign today announces that it has entered into an agreement to make a capital investment in V-SIGN, a VNPT alliance member and co-operator of the only public Certificate Authority (CA) for government in Vietnam licensed under Vietnamese electronic signature law. GMO Hosting & Security is a GMO Internet Group company.
On August 4 this year, GlobalSign previously announced the formation of a business partnership and consultancy deal with V-SIGN. The two parties are set to further solidify this partnership through the investment by GlobalSign in V-SIGN providing GlobalSign with a significant foothold in the Vietnamese market and V-SIGN with the backing of one of the leading public CAs worldwide, GlobalSign.
Outline of the Capital Partnership
Under the agreement GlobalSign K.K. will acquire 87,000 shares of V-SIGN in a private placement (total paid-in amount: 870 million VND, investment ratio: approximately 5％).
