GMO MAKESHOP Launches Shoptweet Twitter Tool for MakeShop Online Stores
Tokyo – November 12, 2009 – GMO MAKESHOP, the GMO Internet Group company that operates the online shop builder ASP/SaaS service MakeShop, today launches shoptweet. The new Twitter posting tool is the first of its kind in the industry. Shoptweet displays Twitter on the top page of an online shop. This free promotional tool makes it possible to display customer comments and orders received.
About the Shoptweet Twitter Tool
Twitter is a rapidly growing micro-blogging service that is popular worldwide for its ease of use and 140 character “tweets”. Recently, more and more companies are using Twitter to increase brand recognition and promote sales. Search engines like Bing and Google now index Twitter tweets and we believe that going forward, Twitter will become an increasingly important marketing tool.
GMO MAKESHOP developed shoptweet to support the marketing activities of online stores using Twitter.

1) Automatic “Tweeting” of Orders Received
This feature is linked to the MakeShop order administration function for automatic “tweeting” of orders received.
Store operators who already have Twitter accounts simply enter their Twitter user name and password into shoptweet on the MakeShop store administration screen to begin using the service.

2) Customer Tweets
When making a purchase, store customers can click the Twitter button on the product details page. A Twitter form is displayed complete with the product and store name allowing the customer to post a comment together with basic information about the product. Online stores that take advantage of this feature and encourage customers to post tweets give other visitors to the store access to third party opinions and generate word of mouth marketing. Store operators can expect to attract more customers and improve conversion rates.

3) A Useful Marketing Tool
