iSLE Launches Virtualization Service

Tokyo – February 4, 2010 – GMO Internet Group company, GMO Hosting & Security announces the launch today of a server virtualization service by dedicated server hosting brand, iSLE.
(*1) Virtualization is the process of dividing one physical server into multiple isolated "virtual" server environments. By virtualizing the operating system, server partitions can be completely isolated for more efficient usage of server resources.
As businesses continue to look for ways to cut costs in a struggling economy, server virtualization has become a popular method of reducing IT expenses. Virtualization makes it possible to construct an efficient server environment without adding additional servers. For this reason it is a method being adopted by many web design companies and other businesses. However, until now customers have been required to purchase their own virtualization software licenses.
Recognizing the growing demand for virtualized dedicated servers, iSLE today introduces an easy to use dedicated server virtualization service.
Virtualization Service
Virtualization Service makes it possible to aggregate and consolidate servers by partitioning one physical server into multiple isolated "virtual" server environments.

With OS virtualization software by world-renowned company Parallels on a high spec dedicated server (2*) with RAID (3*), we offer an efficient, flexible server environment ideal for a range of business needs. This service is recommended for customers considering a dedicated server or who are looking to consolidate servers.
(*2) A separate iSLE “Core” Server Service, Quad Xeon SATA contract is required to take advantage of the Virtualization Service
(*3) RAID: multiple redundant disks functioning as a single hard disk. Data is divided and replicated across multiple disks for improved server performance and data reliability.

Virtualization software comes preinstalled so users can start building virtual servers immediately.
3. Free 24-hour telephone support
Customers who apply for the Virtualization Service will receive free access to iSLE 24-hour telephone support. Few other hosting providers offer this level of dedicated server support. At iSLE there is always a staff member on hand just in case any trouble arises.
4. Combine with iSLE managed services to outsource operation and maintenance
The virtualization service can be used in conjunction with the iSLE managed service. We offer daily server operation and maintenance for 21,000 yen a month. Customers who opt for a managed service can also leave virtualization tasks to iSLE.
