iSLE to Offer True Cloud
Tokyo – February 9, 2010 – GMO Internet Group Company, GMO Hosting & Security announces that hosting brand iSLE is set to launch True Cloud at the end of this month. The new solution is an IaaS-delivered public cloud service with flexible source control.
True Cloud
True Cloud is an IaaS model service employing the latest in cloud computing technology. Offering scalable resource distribution with the use of cloud nodes, resource scheduling to coincide with peak access times, Akamai CDN*4 for high speed distribution of large-scale content, a choice of the latest 64 bit Linux operating systems/LAMP(*5) package, and unlimited multiple domain and IP address hosting, this public cloud solution is deal for hosting, sophisticated web content. True Cloud plans start from just 2,940 yen (tax inc.) per month.
(1) Flexible resource control with cloud nodes: the latest in cloud computing technology
Maintaining a scalable website requires access to scalable server resources. Until now, increasing server resources has often meant migrating to a new server or changing to a higher-spec plan. True Cloud employs the latest in cloud computing technology to allow flexible control of server resources through the use of cloud nodes. Users can maintain optimal server conditions by adding cloud nodes whenever they lack CPU, memory or other server resources.
(2) Resource scheduling: cover peak access times and achieve low cost server operation
For example, a website that attracts heavy traffic on the weekends and fewer visitors during the week would until now require server specs capable of coping with those peak times. This is relatively expensive and inefficient. True Cloud allows server resources to be controlled from day to day so that they are minimized during lighter access periods and the necessary resources can be secured on heavy traffic days to achieve low cost and efficient server operation.
(3) Global Leader Akamai CDN for fast delivery of heavy web content
Nowadays, websites must be able to handle video, large images, sound and other heavy web content. (4) Latest 64-bit Linux OS: choose from CentOS or the rapidly expanding Ubuntu
Maintaining a sophisticated website requires a sophisticated server environment. True Cloud offers the latest 64 bit Linux operating systems. Customers can select from the general use Linux distribution, CentOS or Ubuntu, an operating system fast growing in popularity.
(5) Multiple SSL certificates with unlimited domains and IP addresses
SSL certificates are essential for secure online information exchange. Using multiple certificates on one server requires an individual fixed global IP address for each domain. The True Cloud service hosts unlimited domains*7 and fixed global IP addresses*8 enabling usage of multiple SSL certificates. This is an ideal set up for multi-tenant net shops.
(6) Includes Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl/Python (LAMP Package)
Setting up a server environment with the databases and programming languages required to develop web content is a time-consuming task. True Cloud customers will benefit from the content development LAMP package that comes with every Cloud plan.
