Cross-Platform Pictograph Display for teacup Rental Blog Service
 
 
Tokyo – April 9, 2007 – In an industry first achievement, GMO Internet Group company, Tea Cup Communication has made pictographs[i] posted and viewed in teacup Blog “AutoPage” blogs completely compatible across all three mobile phone carriers and on personal computers.
 
Teacup Blog users are able to post and view entries from their mobile phones. Now a new function has been added that makes pictographs in a mobile phone blog entry viewable across the three major mobile carriers. Regardless of which mobile phone carrier the blogger uses the pictographs are automatically translated to make them viewable on the readers screen. The pictographs are even viewable when the blog is accessed by PC.

Viewable from DoCoMo, au and SoftBank mobile phones as well as personal computers
Viewable in the “comment notification mail” sent to the administrator’s mobile phone when a reader adds a comment.* 

Using Mobile Phone Pictographs
Pictographs can be used:
■ in the Post Title, Author Name and Main Text entry fields of the posting form for mobile phones. **
■ with the au mobile phone mail posting (mobile blog) function
■ by readers in the Name and Comment fields.
 
* Only when receiving the mail by cell phone. If the mail is sent to a PC, alternate text is displayed.
**Mobile phone pictographs posted using a mobile phone PC browser can not be displayed.

teacup blog “AutoPage”
The teacup blog “AutoPage” rental blog service was launched in July, 2004 and now has approximately 400,000 users. The advantage of this service is its range of original features including the Flash drawing function (Magical Maker*), a highly flexible style sheet editing function, and a service that allows the user to create a book out of their blog entries.
