GMO Hosting & Security Announces Plans to Launch eBook Maker for Business Solutions Brand, BizPallete
Tokyo – July 8, 2010 – GMO Internet Group company, GMO Hosting & Security today announces plans to release an ebook creator for business. The new service set to be launched at the end of July under the company’s business solutions brand, BizPalette will enable businesses to automatically create ebooks that can be viewed on a personal computer, iPad, iPhone or other media device.
BisPalette ebook Service is a SaaS model solution that automatically creates and publishes an ebook from an uploaded PDF or JPEG file.
About the Service Release
It is estimated that in 2014 worldwide shipments of media tablets like the iPad will exceed 46 million units. (*2) Particularly strong growth is expected in enterprise use driven by the devices’ user-friendly operation and ability to facilitate face to face communication. In order to deliver content compatible with multiple media devices, separate applications need to be developed for each device. Development costs can run into millions of yen putting the option out of reach for many small and medium businesses.
GMO-HS decided to launch the BizPalette ebook service after recognizing the need for a tool that would allow business users to turn catalogs and other documents into ebooks that could be viewed on a PC, iPAD, iPhone or other device.
BizPalette ebook Service: Enterprise Use
In comparison to printed materials or web sites ebooks are faster and cheaper to produce, easier to customize, and can be easily delivered across a number of mediums including email, via twitter or a corporate website. Business uses include:
Customize sales catalogs for individual customers. Sales reps can use their iPad on sales calls.
Ecommerce websites can use this service to create seasonal catalogs. This is cheaper and more efficient than updating the website itself.
Save time printing and distributing documents such as company regulations, meeting minutes or lecture outlines by turning them into ebooks.

About the BizPallette ebook Service
Simply upload a PDF or JPEG to automatically convert it into ebook format and publish! The converted file is optimized for viewing from an iPad, iPhone or PC. There is no need to purchase expensive and complicated authoring software or spend time configuring a file server. Online, using one file, and in just one step users can create ebooks formatted for compatible devices. File data is easy to manage and no complicated procedures are involved.
Create ebooks for iPad/iPhone
We are offering two different methods for enabling an ebook to be viewed from an iPad or iPhone. Create ebooks that can be viewed using the BizPalette Viewer application for iPad/iPhone (available with all plans) or turn your ebook into a standalone iPad/iPhone application. Customers may also opt to make ebooks that can only be viewed from a dedicated viewer created under their own corporate brand. This service will be available as an option with Business and Premium plans.
Create PC ebooks PC using Flash
This feature enables users to automatically create and publish an ebook using Flash simply by uploading a file. Ebooks created can be hosted under the customer’s own domain name – an advantage from a corporate branding perspective. Going forward additional features will be introduced including the ability to restrict access using ID/passwords, and the ability to create digest versions that guide the reader to the iPad/iPhone version of an ebook.
