MakeShop Launches New Online Supermarket Delivery Plan
Tokyo – September 9, 2010 – GMO MAKESHOP, the GMO Internet Group company that operates online shop service MakeShop, today launches Net Supermarket Delivery Plan, an online store service plan that includes order delivery within a defined area.
Background to the Launch of Net Supermarket Delivery Plan
Net Supermarkets have become increasingly popular as more and more shoppers from homemakers to career people opt to order fresh foods and daily necessities online to be delivered to their homes. As the population of Japan ages, usage of net supermarkets is expected to grow further still.
As consumer needs evolve net shops too are striving to offer community-oriented services structured similarly to net supermarkets. We have identified a growing need for an online shop service that meets the needs of a local community. GMO Makeshop launched Net Supermarket Delivery Plan after receiving requests for a MakeShop net supermarket function and we expect that demand for this service bwill continue to grow.

Net Supermarket Delivery Plan is a new MakeShop plan for businesses that includes delivery within a specified area. Features include the ability to restrict orders to registered members living in a defined area, or to restrict service to a specific area. The delivery plan is ideal for net supermarkets, catering companies, and lunch delivery services.
MakeShop Premium Shop Plan features including site building, payment processing and shop management are all included and the service is suitable for all net shop operators from beginners to large scale retailers.

Service Features and Usage | Settings are located under Local Shop Settings in the Shop Builder menu on the Administration screen. ● Local Area Registration Functions Specify an area by post code, it is also possible to restrict service to registered members ● Delivery Area Specification In order to prevent users outside a specified delivery area from accidentally placing orders, it is possible to require the customer to enter an address before making an order. |
