GREE to Adopt Technology Component of GMO Android Initiative
Tokyo – December 7, 2010 – GMO Internet, Inc. and Acrodea, Inc. today announces that a technology component of the joint project GMO Android Initiative has been adopted by the GREE, Inc, GREE Platform for smartphone.
GMO Android Project, a joint initiative by GMO Internet and Acrodea, aims to provider fast, low-cost, secure entry to the Android market for content providers, creators, and engineers. The project offers a new breed of advanced development tools that include VIVID Runtime® provided free for easy cross-platform game development, and developer support for source code porting from iPhone. Other components of the project include @GMO GameCenter, a secure application distribution platform that protects digital rights in the Android market.
GREE will adopt the VIVID Runtime Software Deve, one of the project's technology components as middleware for the GREE Platform for smartphone. As a result GREE’s developer partners will be able to develop Android applications using VIVID Runtime.
About VIVID Runtime
The VIVID Runtime SDK enables development of cross-platform apps eliminating the need to redevelop apps to run on different operating systems. The SDK makes it possible for developers to create games and apps that run on OS’s including Android, Windows Mobile, BREW and Symbian at low-cost and in a short timeframe.
