New NEC High-Speed Wireless LAN Router to Support Onamae.com Dynamic DNS
Tokyo – July 13, 2011 – GMO Internet today announces that the high-speed wireless LAN router set to be launched by NEC and NEC Technica at the end of this month, will offer support for Onamae.com’s Dynamic DNS service. The new AtermWR8600N (HP model) is capable of transmitting video and music at high speeds between rooms.
Dynamic DNS (DDNS)
Dynamic DNS connects and automatically updates dynamic (non-static) IP addresses allocated by ISP providers to a host name, allowing users to publish websites from their home computer without having to purchase an expensive static IP address. Dynamic DNS also enables users to remotely access music, images and videos stored on their home computer or monitor a web camera connected to their home computer from a smartphone or remote PC.
About Aterm Support for Onamae.com Dynamic DNS
The new NEC high-speed, wireless LAN router available later this month will offer support for Dynamic DNS. NEC has chosen to support the Onamae.com Dynamic DNS service based on the service’s stability and Onamae.com’s strong brand reputation.
Users of NEC’s new router will be able to quickly and easily begin using the Onamae.com Dynamic DNS service after completing a simple application process.
