GMO RUNSYSTEM becomes Government Accredited Registrar of Vietnam Country Domain .vn
GMO RUNSYSTEM to promote expansion of .vn namespace in Vietnam
Hanoi – November 21, 2012 – GMO Internet Group headquarters in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, GMO RUNSYSTEM CORPORATION, last week announced that is has officially received government accreditation as a registrar of Vietnam country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD), .vn.
On November 10, 2012 GMO RUNSYSTEM received a certificate of accreditation as a .vn registrar from the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center, part of the Vietnam Ministry of Information Communication.
GMO RUNSYSTEM operates local domain registration service TENTEN.vn. Going forward the company will continue expanding its domain lineup and striving to build a trusted domain registration brand.
Internet usage in Vietnam has grown rapidly over the past few years, and the country has one of the highest rates of Internet usage in the ASEAN region. However, despite widespread Internet usage among the population of 8.8 million, total .vn registrations number only 300,000. More than just part of an address on the Internet, .vn is an important asset in the government’s Internet strategy. GMO RUNSYSTEM is confident that the .vn domain space has enormous potential for growth.
GMO RUNSYSTEM submitted a long-term plan for the growth of .vn to VNNIC and committed to providing the same high level of technology as provided by leading Japanese domain registrar, Onamae.com, also a GMO Internet Group service.

TENTEN.vn, provided in Vietnam by RunSystem, is a domain name registration service based on leading Japanese service, Onamae.com. “Tenten” and “onamae” are the words for “name” in Vietnamese and Japanese respectively.
