MuuMuu Day Campaign Celebrates 400,000 Domain Registrations with Discount .jp Japanese Language Domain Registrations
Tokyo – June 6, 2007 – GMO Internet Group company, paperboy&co. launched the domain registration service MuuMuu domain on January 15, 2004. In May this year we had registered over 400,000 domains. To celebrate this achievement, beginning today we are offering .jp Japanese language domains for 400 yen a year.
MuuMuu domain is a low-priced domain registration service that offers domains from 693 yen (including tax). Since the service was launched in January 2004 we have accepted approximately 400,000 domain registration applications, predominantly from individual users. We currently handle over 250,000 registered domains.
June 6 is MuuMuu Day and every year we hold a MuuMuu Day campaign. This year marks the fourth MuuMuu Day campaign and for a limited time, to celebrate 400,000 domain registrations, we are 400 yen (tax included) registrations of our new product, the .jp Japanese language domain.
The .jp Japanese Language Domain –A Familiar and Easy to Remember Domain
In a .jp Japanese language domain the characters preceding the .jp are kanji or hiragana (the characters used to write the Japanese language). Services that allow the user to view a web site by simply entering the name of a product, service or person in Japanese are gaining popularity. A Japanese word converted into alphabet is generally longer than its representation in kanji. Registering a .jp Japanese language domain improves usability and contributes to brand recognition because the domain name is shorter and easier to remember.
