GMO Internet Group Achieves Over One Million Domain Registrations

Tokyo – June 11, 2007 -- The four domain registration services operated by the GMO Internet Group, onamae.com, MuuMuu domain, Solis and JapanRegistry have together achieved over 1 million accumulated registrations (06.11.2007).
Today onamae.com, the GMO Internet official ICANN registration service, launches the ￥980 Japanese Language Domain Registration Campaign offering special prices on Japanese language domains in celebration of this milestone.
Accumulated Domain Registrations
The GMO Internet Group currently operates four domain registration services including onamae.com launched in September 1999. Since that service was launched seven and a half years ago we have collectively registered over one million domains. The launch of the MuuMuu domain service in 2004 brought about a surge in number of registrations. In the past five years registrations have grown over 2.6 fold. (Please see the graph below)
This increase in registrations reflects the rapid expansion of the Internet and increase in the number of websites being operated by both corporations and individuals.

Official ICANN domain registration service Onamae.com is offering one year registrations of Japanese language domains (Japanese +.com/.net/.jp) for ￥980 (up to 76.4% off) to celebrate one million GMO Internet Group domain registrations.

JapanRegistry
JapanRegistry, operated by GMO Internet, is a special .jp domain service for customers that require support in English. As well as domain registration, the service also provides English support for domain information updates, transfers, domain name changes and other procedures.
